The Top 4 Places to Celebrate Oktoberfest in L.A.

October is one of the best months to be in LA. Fall weather (or Southern California’s version of fall weather) is starting to kick in, the beaches are less crowded, Halloween is just around the corner, and there is beer. Lots and lots of beer.

Every year Los Angeles celebrates Oktoberfest in its own special way. From about mid-September until the end of October, you can enjoy steins of delicious beer, chow down on schnitzel, and prance around in your best lederhosen. This year there is definitely something for everyone. And after you’ve reached peak Bier intake, there are plenty of budget hotels in LA you could stay at.
Here are four Oktoberfest celebrations to check out in October. Prost!

1. Alpine Village Oktoberfest
Dates: Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Oct. 31
6 p.m. – 12 a.m. Friday | 5 p.m. – 12 a.m. Saturday | 1 p.m. – 6 p.m. Sunday
Location:  Alpine Village, 833 W Torrance Blvd. Torrance; 310-327-2483.
Alpine Village hosts the largest and oldest Oktoberbest celebration in LA, with 2015 being its 48th consecutive Oktoberfest event. Grab your Freunde and head on over on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday before October 31st. Enjoy traditional Bavarian music, authentic German food, and beer, of course. This year they are featuring Warsteiner brews. Friday and Saturday are 21 and over, with Sundays being open to all ages. Attendees are also encouraged to dress up!

Dates: Sundays 1 - 5 p.m. from October 5 through October 26
Location:  Wurstküche Venice, 625 Lincoln Blvd., Venice, 213-687-4444.
Want to feel like you’re at Oktoberbest in Munich? Wurstküche Venice is transforming the interior of the restaurant into a replica of Spaten’s Oktoberfest tent at the Munich Festival Grounds. You’ll find traditional German beers, sausages and Bavarian pretzels, and some Oom Pa Pa jams from the German Zeitgeist Band.
